As per the policy taken by the Government, usage of organic fertilizer was made compulsory for the cultivation. Hence, the quality compost to be supplied for the farmers is a must. But there were no compost testing laboratories to check quality for the following elements such as N, P, K, PH, EC and organic content of the compost produced by the farmers.

The 1^st Provincial Planning Committee Meeting (PPC) of EPC for the year 2022 was chaired by the Chief Secretary Mr.Thusitha P.Wanigasinghe on 29^th August 2022 at 10.00 a.m. at the EPC Conference Hall, Varothayanagar, Trincomalee.

As per the instruction given by the Hon. Ms. Anuratha Yahampath Governor, of Eastern Province in 2020 to Co-operative Employees Commission had decided to award casual permanency to Co-operative Employees who were appointed before October 2020. 

A team comprising of the Chairman & the member, Secretary and other senior officials of the Finance Commission along with a representative of Department of National Budget visited EPC,Trincomalee and reviewed the proposals of the Annual Implementation Programme-2021 of the EPC on 16.03.2021 at the Conference Hall of the Chief Secretary’ Secretariat, Trincomalee.
