73rd Independence day was celebrated at the council Secretariat on 4th of February 2021 by the staff. The National flag was hosted with the national anthem by the Secretary Mr.M.gopalaratnamof Council Secretariat of Eastern Province. All the staff participated. As well as the speech was delivered by the Secretary.

Today the first day of year 2021. Mr.M.Gopalaretnam Secretary of the council Secretariat was arranged the flag hosting and oath affirmation of the public service. The national flag was hosted by secretary Mr.M.Gopalaretnam and the Provincial Flag was hosted by the Mr.A.G.M.Fazal Asst.Secretary of Council Secretariat. As well as all the staff were taken the oath affirmation by 9.45 am.

On the instruction of the His Excellency the president and the request of Ministry of Defense, the function of National Drug eradication programme was celebrated today, the 1st of July in the Eastern Provincial Council. The secretary Mr.M.Gopalaretnam presented this awareness programme. The office staff and others participated in this function. The function was inaugurated by the secretary by hoisting the National flag & the Provincial flag was hoisted by the Asst.Secretary and With National Anthem. The Presidential speech was delivered by the Secretary of the Council and a presentation was given by Mr.Kirushoth and Miss.Asma. The vote of thanks was delivered by the Asst. Secretary Mr.A.G.M.Fazal.
