Eastern Provincial Council signed an Agreement with Industrial Technology Institute Colombo a statutory body under Ministry of Industries to provide consultancy services on measures required for construction and operation of an ISO certified laboratory to analyze organic produce/food samples in Eastern Province and elsewhere. The event was held in Paddy Marketing Board Regional Office Building Kantale on 27^th December 2022.

The Management Development Training Unit has hosted an Awarding Ceremony of European Union funded UNDP - Capacity Development of Local Government Project on December 08, 2022, from 10.30 am to 01.00 pm at Mini-Convention Centre, MDTU, Trincomalee. Awardees who had completed the Certificate Course on Procurement Procedure - Tamil Medium, Certificate Course on Valuation Process - Tamil Medium, Certificate programme on Training of Trainers in Teaching Methodology, Certificate programme on Training of Trainers in Local Government Laws and Procedures, Certificate course on Procurement Procedure in Sinhala Medium, Certificate course on Local Governance for LA staff and Certificate course on Local Governance for Councilors - Sinhala Medium were awarded with certificates.

The ceremonial opening of the Mini-Convention Centre at the Management Development Training Unit, Eastern Province held 08^th December 2022 at 10.00 am. The plaque was unveiled by Hon. Anuradha Yahampath, Governor of the Eastern Province with the distinguished participation of Mr. R M P S Rathnayake, Chief Secretary of the Eastern Province, Mrs. R U Abdul Jaleel, Deputy Chief Secretary (Personnel & Training) and the Secretaries and Deputy Chief Secretaries of the Eastern Provincial Council on the invitation of Ms. Mohamed Mahroof Halida, Director of Management Development Training Unit, Eastern Province.

The Hon. Governor of the Eastern Province Anuradha Yahampath requested to the provincial authorities that the foreign-funded development projects constructing the buildings and roads should be stopped with immediate effect.
