On the invitation extended by the Hon Governor of Eastern Province Rohitha Bogollagama, a higher level investor delegation headed by Hon.Raghbir Singh Jaura Former Minister of Punjab State, Indiavisited Trincomalee on 10th April 2018 in order to study the investment potential of Eastern Province and to facilitate technical collaboration in the fields of crop agriculture, livestock and fisheries.
The visiting delegation paid a courtesy call on Hon. Governor at the Governors Secretariat on 11th April 2018 and briefed him on the purpose of their visit.
Training Programme on Electrical wiring and Plumbing has been conducted by MDTU from 10-11 April 2018 at Karaitheivu MOH Hall for minor Employees.
This program was designed to provide basic technical skills to the employees. Around 75 employees got benefitted out of this training. Mr.P.Matheews was the Resource person of this training.
An introductory session for vehicle database management system was organized by Office of the DCS (Engineering Services) along with MDTU from 10th – 11th April 2018 at MDTU ICT lab.

Management Development & Training Unit of the Eastern Provincial Council has organized one-day training for executive officials from provincial agencies and departments of EPC on Role of State Audit in Sri Lanka on 6th April 2018 at MDTU Auditorium.
Mr. Sarath Mayadunne, Retired Auditor General has served as the Resource Person for this training. Around hundred officials of the various provincial departments from Trincomalee, Batticaloa and Ampara Districts have been benefitted from this training programme.

A Training programme on Negotiation Skills has been conducted by MDTU for Development Officers and Management Assistants on 13 March 2018. Mr. T. Prashanthan, a leading professional Resource Person was the trainer of this programme.
Two days training Programme on Disciplinary procedure and financial regulations was conducted by MDTU for Sinhala medium Agriculture Instructors from 8 - 9 March 2018 at, DDA Office, Ampara. Mr.M.G.W.Kumararathna , Accountant, Mr.DH.Priyantha, Pradeshya Sabha Secretary were served as the Resource Persons of this training Programme.
Former Judge of Courts of Appeal Justice Chandra Jayathilaka was appointed by Eastern Province Governor Hon Rohitha Bogollagama as the Chairman of Provincial Public Service Commission and Professor T. Jayasingham (Vice Chancellor of Eastern University) as a member of the PPSC.
His Excellency the Precident Maithripala Sirisena visited Most Sacred Hindu Shrine in the Eastern Province Sri Mamangam Kovil on the invitation of the Hon. Governor of the Eastern Province Rohitha Bogollagama on 3rd March 2018.
Large number of Hindu devotees and Kovil trustees participated on this occasion.
The Welfare Society of Department of Buildings has arranged a “Vesak Dansala” on 03.05.2018 at 4.00 pm at Inner Harbour Road, Trincomalee. Around 650 people has participated in this function.
The Ministry of Road Development, Eastern Province, Assistant Auditor’s General Department, Trincomalee and Central Department of Buildings, Trincomalee Officers has provided assistance to the function.
